I have to be careful and not click too much so I stripped it out again.Īt this time, the internal SSD drive is stripped clean and I am booting to the external to do class work. I even installed Mojave on it and it runs, but not very well. I have checked the internal drive with disk utility, and it doesn't find any errors. In fact, it runs great with the external drive. OSx Maverick.īeing very frustrated, I finally installed VMware on my windows computer and installed Catalina on a 1TB external harddrive and plugged that into the mac mini via usb and it runs perfectly. I even tried to letting the online installer choose the original OS, and it failed on install. Not just with a boot disk, but through the online installer as well. I installed Catalina over and over with the same results. The only way to stop it is with a hard boot shutdown. ![]() Sometimes it occurs on the logon page but not as often. ![]() Everything freezes when I click on any app. I have 16GB of ram and an i5 processor 2.5Ghz.Īnyway, with Catalina, using the internal drive, I get the little spinning rainbow globe of death that never stops. The current internal drive is an SSD Samsung Evo 850 500 GB. It came with Sierra and I upgraded the OS.
